Today we are going to be talking about mini chandeliers and outdoor sconces, more specifically the pros and cons and the different places that you would put each type of light fixture. The first thing that we need to do though is define what a chandelier is and what a sconce is. A chandelier according to Wikipedia can be defined as “a branched decorative ceiling-mounted light fixture with two or more arms bearing lights.” While a sconce is defined as a light fixture that is attached to the wall by the means of a bracket, while not having any type of stand or exposed wires coming out of the wall.
Now that we know what each light fixture is it is now time to go over the pros, cons and places where they would fit the best. The first lighting fixture that we are going to be talking about is the mini chandelier. The pros of having one of these are that it can fit in small rooms or places that a normal size chandelier would not. Also another good thing about mini chandeliers is that they are about half the cost of the larger counterparts. Some of the cons of having one of these light fixtures is that they can be hard to clean and up keep can be sometimes be expensive depending on the amount and type of bulbs that it contains. Like regular chandeliers, mini chandeliers are great at lighting up large areas of space while at the same time giving off the impression of class and sophistication. Some really good places to put these light fixtures are in gazebos, dining rooms, under deck patios, awning and canopies.
Next it is time to talk about the outdoor sconce. The pros of having these fixtures around your house are that they are excellent fashion accessories to your home, they provide light where you need it, and they are relatively easy to install. The cons of installing outdoor sconces are that they can be costly to install, and weather can destroy them relatively easy. The best places to install outdoor sconces are along walk ways, in gardens, and entry ways. One of the most popular types of sconces is the bronze outdoor sconce.
