Outdoor tub chairs offer a totally different look to the standard patio and garden furniture you normally see in most back yards. Plastic is the main material used because the chair is going to be subjected to the weather, especially rain. Plastic will not fade as quickly as wood or metal, and is much cheaper to buy as well. Wooden tub chairs can also be used in the garden if they have been treated with a protective varnish or coating. The benefit of these is that they blend into their surroundings much better than plastic does. You can match the colors with your garden trees and furniture. The only downside is that you should wither keep them covered during the winter months, or store them inside the garage. The weather will cause the wood to look faded, and for mold to appear. You can re-coat them once a year to keep them looking their best.
Metal is another alternative to consider. It is much more solid than plastic, but is far more expensive to buy. Stainless steel is the best choice because it is more durable and hard wearing than cheaper metals. They can look good with matching metal tables in the garden. Whichever type of outdoor tub chair you choose, you will find no shortage of styles on the market. All good garden centers and home improvement stores now stock them.
